Chemtech services, INC. Was incorporated in 2004, to provide engineering design, equipment fabrication, and plant construction services to the chemical and petroleum industries. Within the first year of incorporation, chemtech acquired the short path distillation division of uic, INC. Located in joliet, illinois, and chemtech subsequently moved their corporate headquarters to the joliet location.



The roots of the uic short path distillation division trace back to the leybold vacuum division of degussa ag (germany). The leybold vacuum division had developed over 35 years ago proprietary technology associated with high vacuum distillation techniques for the gentle molecular separation of chemicals. The short path distillation division of leybold quickly developed a strong global reputation as being the most competent engineering design group and fabricator of high vacuum distillation equipment. As the short path distillation business grew leybold appointed uic, INC. As their North American distributor in 1982. Uic proved successful in developing the North American market for distillation equipment, and the associated process technology for promoting and servicing this equipment. In 1989 degussa reorganized their core businesses and elected to divest the short path distillation division of leybold and provided their largest global distributor of short path equipment, uic, INC. With the opportunity to purchased the vacuum distillation division from leybold. Upon completing the acquisition of the short path distillation business, uic moved the global administrative headquarters to their joliet facility where this business continues to operate today under the chemtech name.



Chemtech services, INC. Currently provides process development services associated with organic chemical synthesis and processing, related to the design and construction of chemical pilot plants and commercial processing facilities. Chemtech engineers have designed and managed chemical plant construction projects globally, including projects in North America, south America, Asia, Europe and Africa. Our engineering team will take responsibility for general system engineering, detailed construction drawings, project management, equipment procurement and construction subcontracting.



Chemtech is also able to provide assistance related to process chemistry which may be instrumental to the final success of any new facility or expansion project, and the optimization of the process yield and return-on-investment. Chemtech can also assist customers in defining return-on-investment economics when comparing new or developmental processes to existing operations.
